We recently asked our community members what each of you is doing to stay inspired during this difficult time. We loved your responses and wanted to share them for all to benefit from. Let's create a cycle of inspiration that continues throughout this pandemic and for a long time afterwards.
1. “Get in touch with the community.”
We wholeheartedly agree! Though social distancing means putting off in-person meetups for a while, there are so many ways to connect with our communities, either through video chats, virtual events, or even a simple text message.
2. “I’ve been completing courses on LinkedIn Learning so I can take new skills and ideas with me once the crisis is over.”
It's a great time to learn something new, especially if you're a maker or creator who's challenged for work right now. If there's something you do that you think others would be interested in learning, we'd love to hear about it. Answer our call for submissions here.
We're so lucky to live in a time where we can gather in virtual spaces to share knowledge and have thoughtful discussions. Online events and lectures, like those we're sharing in our Around the Hub at Home series, are a great way to open our minds from the safety of our homes.
4. "Support my local businesses (restaurants especially) by buying gift cards now that I can use later (including hairdressers!)."
We love the enthusiasm our community has for its small business owners. If you're looking for some ideas, we've listed our top five Boston-area restaurants you can support here.
5. “For anyone looking to stay social and active during this time of isolation, Ompractice's group yoga classes are all via two way video, and there are more than 70 on the schedule. They're looking to add some more family yoga classes in the next few weeks for people at home with the kids.”
As we continue to seek wellness (perhaps now more than ever), a local resource to turn to is HubWeek 2018 finalist Ompractice, which delivers live, interactive online yoga classes. You can find a few more mindfulness and fitness ideas elsewhere on our blog.
